Glasgow Disability Alliance unites 5000+ disabled members and disabled people led organisations (DPOs) across Glasgow.

This Manifesto outlines our calls to action in the run up to the 2019 UK General Election. There were 5 ‘asks’:

End austerity and universal credit
Increase funding for social care
Embed in UK law the UN convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
Involve disabled people in designing an accessible, sustainable environment
Protect disabled people’s rights through Brexit

GDA’s contribution to the Fairer Scotland for Disabled People Debate held on 28th March 2019.

Since September 2018, with Participatory Budgeting funds from the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council, GDA has supported over 1000 disabled people to contribute over 8,000 hours to help shape and drive forwards a flagship Equalities approach to Participatory Budgeting in Glasgow, to ensure no-one is left behind. This report tells the story of this work and sets out what needs to happen so that disabled people can be included in decisions about their communities.

Dare to Dream: Future Visions outlines the learning from our Future Visions project as well as recommendations for the future of
Social Care and Self-Directed Support.

This summary report outlines GDA’s Future Visions project, designed to help address the relatively low uptake of Self-directed Support (SDS) among disabled people. The summary report includes key learning from the project.
