10:30am – 3:45pm, Friday 11 October, 2024.
150+ members of Glasgow Disability Alliance and their supporters will come together to raise the collective voices of disabled people against the injustices of poverty facing disabled people and the inequalities which arise as a result.
GDA’s Purple Poncho Players will deliver a performance highlighting the lived experiences of disabled people facing poverty and the interactions of poverty with additional barriers which disabled people also face.
Keynote address will be given by Angela O’Hagan, Chair of the Scottish Human Rights Commission. We will have a live panel discussion including representatives from the Poverty Alliance, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Glasgow Centre for Population Health and Scottish Women’s Budget Group.
The event is available hybrid, meaning you can join in person or online. Booking is essential and disabled people will be prioritised. The afternoon (2:15pm – 3:45pm) is for GDA members only.
Please call 0141 556 7103 or email [email protected] to request a place.
