Child Disability Payment is now open for new applications. Child Disability Payment provides extra money to help with the costs for caring for a child or young person with a disability or terminal illness. It replaces Disability Living Allowance for Children in Scotland that was previously delivered by the Department for Work and Pensions.
Children and young people who already receive Disability Living Allowance from the Department for Work and Pensions do NOT need to apply for Child Disability Payment. They will be transferred automatically to the new payment over the coming years.
More information on who can apply, payment rates and how to apply can be found in the various factsheets available and at mygov.scot/benefits
Factsheets on the new benefit are available in a variety of formats, here >> https://www.socialsecurity.gov.scot/guidance…/resources
