Super Saturday

December 13th, 2016

Something worth shouting about!

Young GDA members spent Saturday 10th December at the STUC building in Glasgow's West End taking part in a fantastic day which included workshops from the Better Than Zero campaignYoung Scot, Clearer Choices, Police Scotland and Paragon Music.

GDA's Super Saturday coincided with international Human Rights Day, and saw 30 young disabled people getting together to discuss the issues that matter most to them.  From fighting discrimination and raising awareness of the barriers they face, to finding out more about making informed, safe, and healthy life choices, GDA's members contributed to a thought-provoking, action-inspiring day!

With help from Sarah Collins and Bryan Simpson of Better Than Zero the group started thinking about how we can put creative campaigning ideas into action, making a start with a hands-on banner and placard making workshop in the afternoon.

You can find out more about Better Than Zero's upcoming activity here, and be sure to watch this space for campaigning collaboration between GDA and Better Than Zero in the run up to local council elections next May!
